RAPPER XXXTenacion was followed into a motorbike shop before being murdered by man in red mask, it’s claimed.
The 20-year-old was spotted chatting to an assistant inside the Miami store just minutes before he was gunned down outside it on Monday, according to reports.
A 22-year-old has been charged with his murder but police say they are hunting more suspects.
Tattoo artist Dedrick Devonshay Williams, of Pompano Beach, Florida, was arrested during a traffic stop just before 7pm on Wednesday, cops say.
He appeared at court on Thursday and was charged with first-degree murder without premeditation, a probation violation and for not having a valid driver’s licence.
XXXTentacion was ambushed by two suspects as he left a motorcycle dealership in his sports car on Monday, authorities said.
Police did not give a motive in announcing Williams’ arrest but had previously said the shooting was an apparent robbery attempt.
After Williams’ arrest, Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said homicide detectives also were seeking additional suspects.
An arrest report said Williams was alone in the silver 2004 Honda and driving without a licence when he was spotted by an officer and taken into custody on an active warrant.
XXXTentacion’s lawyer, David Bogenschutz, said on Tuesday that investigators told him the rapper had visited a bank shortly before the shooting and possibly withdrew cash to buy a motorcycle at Riva Motorsports.
XXXTentacion, 20, who was born and raised in Plantation, Florida, released his debut album in August 2017.
His second album “?” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 album chart when it was released in March.
He was often described as one of rap’s most controversial artists and had spent time in jail. He was awaiting trial on allegations of domestic violence against his pregnant girlfriend.
In a recent interview with the Miami New Times, XXXTentacion described his upbringing, which included seeing his mother infrequently and being raised by friends, family and baby-sitters.
In one video on social media, he said: “If worse things come to worse, I f*****g die a tragic death or some s**t, and I’m not able to see out my dreams, I at least want to know that the kids perceive my message and were able to make something of themselves.”

The Broward County Sherriff’s Office had offered a $3,000 (£2,200) reward for any information about the killing.
Court records show Williams has been charged previously with several crimes including grand theft auto, domestic violence, cocaine possession and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
It does not appear, however, that he has served time in prison for these charges and some of them were dropped.
